Our Training Staff

  Mark Stauffer  

Mark Stauffer serves as the President of Back Mountain Soccer and is the head women’s soccer coach at Misericordia University.

In his time at Misericordia, Stauffer has led the Cougars to multiple conference championships, and numerous deep runs in the NCAA tournament.

  • Final 4 (2012) 

  • 2012 NSCAA National Coach of the Year 

  • 2012 NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year

Stauffer graduated from Misericordia University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and physics. He ranks among Misericordia’s all-time leaders in five categories, including career points, goals and assists and single-season points and goals.

Stauffer currently holds his USC/NSCAA premier coaching diploma and is a regional staff coach for the USC/NSCAA.

  Andy Loughnane  

Andy Loughnane is the current head men’s soccer coach at Misericordia University. He also serves Back Mountain as the Recreation Director. 

  • At Misericordia:

    • ​Three postseason berths

    • MAC Freedom Coach of the Year (2016)

  • Head Coach of the NPSL Electric City Shock

  • Graduate of Caldwell University - two time team captain

  • Assistant coach at the University of Scranton (5 years)

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Caldwell and earned his master’s in biochemistry from Scranton 

Loughnane holds licenses in:

  • USC National Diploma

  • USC Goalkeeping 1 and 2 Diploma 

  • USC Special Topics - Key Moments of the Game and Sports Psychology

  • US Soccer Grassroots license 

  • TOVO V1 Methodology Diploma

  Tayler Jamison  

Tayler Jamison is the current assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Misericordia University. 

  • Played collegiate career at Virginia Commonwealth University and West Chester University 

  • Career at West Chester

    • Served as a team captain 

    • Three NCAA Tournament appearances

    • Two trips to the Sweet 16 

    • One Elite 8 berth. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching

  • MBA from Misericordia University 

  • USSF Grassroots license

  Alessandro Burlew  

Alessandro Burlew is the current assistant coach for the men's soccer program at Misericordia University.

  • Graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland 

    • Bachelor's degree in political science 

    • Rookie of the Year for the CAC

  • Coached one year with Coerver United

  • Holds a USSF National "D" License 

  • "C" License in 2021

Burlew then went on to play overseas in Sweden with Scandanavian FC Örebro and in Italy with Porta Romana, adding trials in the Latvian and Estonian Premier Leagues and the Gibraltar Premier League

  Erin Roberts  

Erin Roberts is a former standout midfielder for the Misericordia Women’s Soccer program. 
 
In her time there, Misericordia won 3 consecutive conference titles and made multiple deep runs in the NCAA tournament. She led the team as captain to two Sweet 16’s, and a Final Four in 2012. 

Roberts also received numerous individual awards throughout her playing career. Some of which include:

  • Rookie of the Year 

  • All Conference 1st Team (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)

  • All Region 1st Team (2013, 2014) 

  • Defensive Player of the Year (2013, 2014)

Roberts earned her bachelor’s degree in health science, and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. 

  Elana Falcone  

Elana Falcone is a former player of the Temple women’s soccer team. In her time there, she was a three year starter and two time team captain.

  • Assistant coach at King’s College (2018-2020). 

  • Current head coach of the Pittston Area High School varsity soccer team.

Falcone holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Temple University. As well as, a MEd as a reading specialist from King’s College.
