Dallas, PA – Newly formed UWS2 team Back Mountain Torrent has named Tayler Jamison as its first head coach. Coach Jamison is intimately familiar with soccer in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Tayler had been assistant coach for the Misericordia University Women’s Soccer team from 2019 through 2022. During her tenure, Misericordia finished as MAC Freedom finalists in 2019 and MAC Freedom champions in 2021. The 2021 Misericordia team reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and was ranked #1 for parts of the 2021 season for the first time in school history. Tayler coached fifteen all-conference selections, nine All-Region selections, three All-American selections, and three Scholar All-Americans during her time at Misericordia.

Coach Jamison also spent two years as the Director of Coaching for Back Mountain Soccer Club, implementing many of the philosophies and training plans used by the club. She also spent three years training multiple teams for the club.

Tayler is a 2017 graduate of West Chester University where she was team captain during the 2017 season and helped her team reach the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2016 and the Elite 8 in 2017. Prior to transferring to West Chester, she spent a season at Virginia Commonwealth University. A native of Chester County PA, Tayler played club soccer for FC Delco.

Tayler is currently the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The 2022 season was her first at WashU. The WashU Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 and finished as a top ten team in the country. The team consisted of four all-conference, two all-region, and an All-American team selection.
“I am thrilled to be returning to Northeastern PA to join Back Mountain SC for their inaugural UWS2 season. Thank you to the team owners for putting their trust in me and naming me the new Torrent Head Coach. I am fortunate enough to have experienced firsthand the amount of time and commitment that Back Mountain SC has spent creating opportunities for players in the NEPA area. I would also like to thank WashU for allowing me the time to take on this opportunity. I’m looking forward to having the chance to continue to grow the soccer community and provide our players with a high level experience.”

The Back Mountain Torrent season begins in May. Tryouts are currently scheduled for Sunday, February 5th at 4:00pm. Future tryout dates to be announced. Those looking to join the team should register here. Inquiries can be made to torrent@backmtnsc.org
